These are “good” unwanted electronics! They are headed to recycling where their component minerals and metals will be reprocessed and used again, not to a dump where they will poison our water.
If you now have unwanted electronics that need to be securely disposed of, recycled, or re-purposed, you can still bring them to Adult Life Training, Inc. in Fort Wayne. Especially with mobile devices: throwing cell phones in the trash is a bad idea: it not only pollutes, if someone picks it up they can get all your numbers.
All items submitted through us are securely recycled according to Federal specifications and procedures by ACE Recycling. Bringing your unwanted electronics here for recycling will also help support our work, as ACE will pay us $1 for laptops, cell phones and screens, and $3 for desktop PCs.
We are located on the Abundant Life campus at 3301 E Coliseum Blvd, Room 136, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805. For a map https://goo.gl/maps/m2eMG
As some of you know 1st Source Bank in northern Indiana asked their communities for nominations of public charities worthy of receiving a cash gift this year. 1st Source was celebrating 150 years of service and offering $150,000 in cash donations to local charities, $1,000 each. Two big donations remain to be awarded, each $15,000 around the start of next week I think December 16.
So they sent us a greeting card with their well wishes! I’d like to share it with you all. Click for larger image.
We would love to add 1st Source Bank to our Partners page, but we understand there are many worthy public charities! So, although we did not receive one of the $1,000 gifts, maybe we will be chosen for one of the $15,000 gifts.
And if we are not among the happy few who receive financial support, remember driving in Indiana snow storms, many are stalled but few are frozen. We have free hot coffee and coffee-mochas in our Community Room! Have a great day!
Calling all our volunteers — reminding them to bring scraps of stuff for the Karen (Burmese refugee) youth to make Christmas Ornaments tonight.
