Adult Life Training, Inc. received the 3 Rivers Foundation Grant. The award amount of $10,000 will be used to increase Financial Literacy and access to technology in the Fort Wayne / Allen County area. Part of the grant will be used to update technology at the Adult Life Training, Inc. facility on the Abundant Life Church campus at 3301 East Coliseum Blvd, and the replaced technology will be “paid ahead” to struggling small charities in the local area who are doing good work but would benefit from having a donated computer.
After the selection committee is formed information will be posted here as to how public charities can request one of our retired computers.

Budgeting is a key to financial survival, and later to financial prosperity. Son j^3 provided the following inside information for those interested in getting started on the road to financial success in year 2016. We are to find out this week how much of the grant that we requested for Financial Literacy and computer upgrades to Windows 10 we receive. Stay tuned!
This is the download page, providing free pdfs of the planners. Technically, the recipients have to share the link on Facebook or something trivial like that to qualify. It’s an honor system. http://www.passionplanner.com/downloads-2/
YNAB (You Need a Budget)
They offer a free 34-day trial period, then the cloud-based software costs $5 per month, which should be doable for nearly anyone who’s actively budgeting and not in an immediate crisis. Home page: http://www.youneedabudget.com/.
The company offers YNAB free for college students, and relies on word of mouth for awareness. If you plug it into the personal finances classes as part of the Budgeting lesson, and explain how YNAB’s 4 rules fit with Dave Ramsey’s 7 Baby Steps, it should be an almost-perfect fit for the Financial Peace University program. The combination of attractive, effective software, free online classes and videos, long trial period and low monthly cost makes this an attractive option to help people begin their first budgets.
