If I see someone who fits your needs I will connect them with you. In some cases we can train someone to fit your requirements. I will avoid wasting your time with someone who is clearly not a fit the job.<\/p>\n<h2>Email Newsletter\u00a0Starting<\/h2>\n<p>I am opening enrollment in an email based update \/ newsletter. Under Federal supervision, the participants perform 20 hours per week training for which they are paid minimum wage. Half this is computer job skills and workplace expectations training, and half light cleaning using modern machinery. See Jennifer Zamaites or Eliza Jackson at Catholic Charities for information\u00a0260.422.5625.<\/p>\n<h2>Two grant requests are pending<\/h2>\n<p>one by invitation. Appears there will be no further activity on those this year and hopefully we will be chosen for funding Jan 2016. The program for next year is <strong><em>Back to Work 2016<\/em><\/strong>, just as this year was <strong><em>Back to Work 2015<\/em><\/strong>. These grants would cover:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Ramsey Financial Peace University<\/strong> (9 weeks, $109 per participant) added to curriculum for all\u00a0participants. A $20 fee will be charged each participant\u00a0and\u00a0returned to participant upon successful completion of the nine (9) week curriculum. Includes one year membership in FPU including financial counselling and support group. Within the first 90 days the average family pays off $5,300 in debt and saves $2,700. These nine lessons will teach them\u00a0to get out of debt the same way they\u00a0learned to walk-one step at a time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Replacement of computers<\/strong> (computer box only &#8212; reusing screen, keyboard, mouse, UPS) so all can run Windows 10 as well as Linux. Three of the six in the bridge room cannot be upgraded further to make them compatible with Windows 10. Retired computers will go to local (new) public charities who are actively teaching job skills\u00a0consistent with the Spirit and Letter of our Articles of Incorporation Article II, Article VII, and Article VIII and Article 5 section 5.01 of our\u00a0By Laws.\n<ul style=\"border: thin solid navy; padding: 1em; background-color: #eeeeee; color: #333333;\">\n<li>The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes &#8230;\u00a0to provide training services &#8230;\u00a0job skills and basic life skills, without charging a fee to the clients for these services; to conduct and disclose research as is to advance the state of the art; to make available (at no cost or for a nominal fee) the materials used in training and the results of research\u00a0&#8230; to develop the character of the clients in a positive way, so that they may become more self sufficient and better citizens, and so that they build relationships that will help them make positive and sustained social progress&#8230;\u00a0The Corporation is not intended to serve a religious function, such as conducting church services. Charities use volume licenses and do not receive the free upgrade to Windows 10. Microsoft donates the licenses to <a href=\"http:\/\/techsoup.org\" target=\"_blank\">techsoup.org<\/a>, which charges an &#8220;administrative fee&#8221; a little under 10% of the retail price to allow financial support of their staff.<\/li>\n<li>100 <strong>Notebook Computers<\/strong> for placement with local charities and off-site\u00a0computer job skills classes<\/li>\n<li>10.1&#8243;<strong> Android Tablets<\/strong> to start mobile device classes. This is an unusual project in that it is sustainable after the original investment. The tablets are made available to the participants for $120 each, and new tablets purchased with the proceeds. The student receives a nice tablet s\/he has learned how to use for a very low price, and the charity will always have current technology with which to teach, plus a small profit for contingencies such as breakage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to Help<\/h2>\n<p>If you would like to help our effort, you can send me an email with your resume and area that you would like to volunteer to teach.
