NOTE August 6: The Tree was full of carpenter ants and vermin nests, some fuzzy. Sticky, watery goo ran out of the cuts and one chain saw broke permanently. Some wood is clean, most has ant holes through it and ants all over it. Those who can burn ant infested fire wood, it has been cut and stacked – bring your wagon before it is hauled away in a couple days.
One piece of the tree remains erect, poised to fall on power lines, fiber optic cables to the hospital, telephone, cable TV, and more. When will it fall? We cannot know. What damage will it do and what people may be hurt or killed? If it is not taken down soon it will fall down as the rest has done, and the remaining piece of 80 foot tall three foot diameter ant infested trunk will make itself known when it does come down.
