She found an extra $700 a month she didn’t know she had!

Posted on September 20, 2016November 18, 2016 by John Nash

zMaking an budget helps Jody S. and her husband, Stephen, breathe easier. Like, $700-a-month easier. … “We weren’t telling our money where to go, so we were just spending it! I remember looking back, saying ‘What did we buy this month? Where did it all go? We have no money!’” she says.

You can take control of your money, just as several million other families have, through the training available in the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University curriculum.

The Adult Life Training fall FPU class just started this week and there is still time to become a part of that Mondays at 6:00PM-8:00PM. The link to register on-line is  http://www.daveramsey.com/fpu/locations/class/1022752. There are two more classes already running at Abundant Life Church, Wednesday 7:30PM-8:30PM ( one for college age students and the other for adults). You are welcome to join, and maybe you too will find that extra $700 you didn’t know you had!

The non profit organization that underwrote our Financial Literacy program this year, 3Rivers Federal Credit Union, has a page with several tools. One of which is designed to help you assess your own financial health.  https://www.savvymoney.com/checkup/3riversfcu/Welcome.aspx

Credit Unions are not banks – banks exist to maximize their shareholders wealth, not yours! Credit Unions exist to maximize their member’s financial health — that’s you and me, not some rich guy in France who bought your bank’s stock. It makes a huge difference in how you are treated!

There is Ramsey recommended software too, that makes your budgeting a snap! Look up EveryDollar at https://www.everydollar.com/blog/how-this-family-found-an-extra-700-a-month
