Proverbs 22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
“The Best Kind Of Slaves Are The Ones That Don’t Know They Are Slaves”
It has come to my attention that there is a new, and extremely dangerous trend: to normalize debt by re-labeling it as a personal attribute.
This was communicated to me by FaceBook staff when they informed me that an ad we wanted to run for Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, which teaches people how to manage their money and get out of debt, was not allowed because debt was considered a ‘personally distinguishing attribute’ – like gender, race, ethnicity, ethnic origin – things over which a person had no control and cannot change. We do have control over whether or not we agree to go into debt and whether we escape from debt!
The reason this is so important to us today is that the banking industry has invested untold trillions of dollars to develop a public mindset that everyone must always be in debt and can do nothing about it “Car payments are a way of life, you’ll always have a car payment.” Obviously this is self-serving manipulation on their part, and it is absolutely contrary to our personal and national best interests.
THE DEBT MONGERS WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE THAT DEBT IS A PERSONAL ATTRIBUTE OVER WHICH WE HAVE NO CONTROL: NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH
We as a civilization need to reject this mentality: our children deserve better than student loans that bind people permanently in debt with no hope of escape before they ever even finish a college degree! What is the next step? Placing unborn children in debt?
We must fight this push: we must reject outright the notion that we have no control over our own choices, and assert our right to say ‘No’ to spending money we don’t have when we don’t want to be effectively enslaved by rich lenders who would deceive us into their indentured service.
There is a way out – avoiding debt is 80% behavior and only 20% knowledge – everyone can have financial freedom if they understand how to get it!
