April 2019 Unemployment rate lowest since 1969

Posted on May 6, 2019May 6, 2019 by John Nash

This just in via email from United States Department of Labor <subscriptions@subscriptions.dol.gov>

Unemployment Rate Drops to 3.6%

The unemployment rate declined to 3.6% in April, the lowest since December 1969, according to the Employment Situation report released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Employers are willing to pay to get you to work for them. My search this morning came back for Allen County Indiana USA with 17 pages of jobs (after ‘removing potential duplicates’). These jobs range from $9/hour for workers with no skill to $45/hour with full benefits for an ETL Test Lead, with most $11-$25/hour which generally are full benefits.

This is radically better than the prior situation (2008-2016) period where there was an occasional minimum wage part time job with no benefits. Employers want employees now and they are willing to pay to get them.

If you would like to increase your pay and benefits, or if you are one of the rare people who are not yet working full time, you can examine what employers are offering at https://www.indianacareerconnect.com.
