You know from my many posts on the topic that we at Adult Life Training, Inc. use the Passion Planner with our Directors and with our patrons to set goals and plot an achievable course to personal and professional success. Of her inspiration notable video blogger and entrepreneur Angelia Trinidad writes:
We’ve all been there: uncertain about what to do in life and unsure about the next step. When Angelia Trinidad faced this anxiety after graduating from college in 2012, she decided to do something about it. She designed the Passion Planner, a personal organizer to help you simplify your life and focus on what really matters.
We at Adult Life Training, Inc. buy Passion Planners for our Directors and (when we can get them) we give them to our patrons! Passion Planner is the best tool we have found to organize ourselves and teach others to set and master their own life goals.
Financial Peace University is one of our primary efforts to improve the lives of our community through training, mentorship, and example. Our free public FPU workshops are underwritten by a generous grant from the 3Rivers Federal Credit Union Foundation. 3Rivers is Here for you: here for good. If you’re ready to start a lifelong banking relationship with a local organization you can trust, then 3Rivers is for you.
In this internationally acclaimed curriculum we learn simple and actionable steps that anyone can do to take back our lives financially: 1. Basic Emergency Fund so we don’t have to borrow to get out of emergencies, 2. Debt Snowball to eliminate all debt with great prejudice and never get tricked into debt again, 3. Completing our basic emergency fund so that we could live 3-6 months with no worries in case we loose income, 4-5. proper investing for our kids and our selves, 6. pay off our mortgage so we own our home, and 7. live and give like no one else.
If we get debt free and invest a mere $2,000 per year from age 25 until we retire at 55, we will have about $361,887 in retirement funds, 300,000 of which came from interest. That is $36,000 per year extra to live on. If we stop adding money to it at age 55 but wait just ten (10) more years until conventional retirement at age 65, we will have about $1,030,427 for our retirement, $970,000 of which came from interest. That’s $103,000 a year to live on forever without ever touching the investment!! If we can wait until age 75 it is even more at $2,789,409 for the same $60,000 total investment. That means we can have a nice income for ourselves, and leave a pile of cash for our children after we die. Imagine what you could do with an extra $103,000 every year forever when you retire. Imagine what an extra million dollars would do for your children – especially if they are wise enough to leave it invested and wait for their retirement! If your children inherit that $1,030,427 at age 25 and leave it untouched until they are 55 they can retire with $20,440,995.55 – two MILLION dollars income a year forever!! What if they then leave that investment to their children who are wise enough to do likewise?! In another 30 years it would be $405,496,191.42 – almost half a BILLION dollars.
We are talking about creating a legacy here that totally changes the lives of your future generations forever. But it only happens if we actually start, and make it our habit to invest that $2,000 every year, about $167 a month.
Financial Peace University is the proven plan to pay off debt, save and build wealth that’s helped nearly 6 million people start winning with money.
Today, these two great life changing concepts met in (what I believe) is a match made in heaven. Or at least in good sense. Shamelessly borrowing from the genuine Passion Planner article published Jan 21:
The beginning of a new year is a great opportunity to self-reflect, set new goals, and create actionable steps to achieve a new desired way of life. Most of us can easily identify areas of our lives we wish to improve, yet struggle when we begin to lose that initial motivation from the start of a new year. Rather than focusing on changing our attitudes and behaviors, we find every excuse to fall back into old patterns during times of stress.
Many of us find ourselves in a state of financial strain, especially early on in our careers. This is often a result of a lack of routine surrounding our spending habits. Following a budget, like many other habits, can be difficult to stick with if you don’t create a plan that works for your lifestyle. If you’re a millennial struggling with money management and want to reach your financial goals this year, check out these steps!
Everyone can benefit from this great planner and the “baby steps” we teach in the Financial Peace University classes. Our January class is up to lesson 3 now, but you can still drop in and join. We have coffee. Sometimes cookies too. And hot water for tea. You can register here or just come. Or our class starting March 9 registration link is here.
So what is holding you back? Check out the Passion Planner Money 101 article and (if you are one of the few who still does not have their Passion Planner) drop by the Passion Planner web store to check out the amazing selection and get yours!
